Earth Hour

Tonight I headed downtown to take some photographs during Earth Hour. I thought it would be cool to set up my tripod and take some shots of the city with the lights off and on. Things don't always work out the way you plan them, and my plans quickly changed as I drove through a brightly lit downtown at 8:10pm. I was very confused, did I get the time wrong or maybe the day? I was pretty sure today was the day and finally I stumbled upon the Albion Hotel that was lit only by candlelight. They weren't the only ones who turned their lights out downtown, but they were definitely one of the very few. As you can see in the photo below, even an empty city hall was very well illuminated for all to see (or just me, because there wasn't another sole on the street).

Lee and Lane

Last week I visited my old friend Jill and her little ones Lee and Lane. They are quite the bunch, all of them full of energy and smiles. I'll be visiting them a few more times this year to help record Lane's first year. Stay tuned for more cute photos!
